West Shore
The string of smaller Tahoe communities and state parks along Hwy 89 is collectively known as the Lake Tahoe West Shore. Known as the Black Forest of Lake Tahoe with its mossy, deep-woods aesthetic, West Shore provides the ‘cabin-in-the-woods’ experience for those looking to escape to nature. Along Tahoe’s West Shore you will also find Homewood Ski Resort which is moving toward a renovation plan to include a quaint pedestrian village, mid-mountain lodge, gondola and underground parking.
